There's Loads of Fun for Everyone at Lone Pine Campsites in 2009!

At Lone Pine we know that you're never too old to have a good time. That's why we offer a wide variety of activities for both the young and the young at heart throughout our camping season. To see a detailed calendar of what's in store for 2009, click here. Read on for a preview of what we have planned!

Weekly Rec Hall Activities

  • Game night Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM (June 17-August 26).
  • Bingo every Friday night at 8:00 PM (May 22-September 11, U.S. currency only).
  • Candy Bar Bingo Saturday mornings at 10:00 AM (June 20-August 29).
  • Take a ride on the Lone Pine fire truck every weekend (May 22rd - September 13th)!

A variety of sports are available every day to campers, including tennis, horseshoes, volleyball, basketball, and shuffleboard. Visit the camp store to borrow equipment, and be sure to have some fun at our Video Game Room (open every day during store hours).

May

May 1st marks the opening of Lone Pine's 2009 season!

Bring your favorite dish and join us May 16th for the Welcome Back Potluck, the first big get-together of the year. Earlier in the month we'll celebrate Mother's Day with a hearty breakfast in honor of our moms and will enjoy Memorial Day weekend with extra games for kids, a flea market, and a holiday dance! There will even be a dance just for teens, ages 18 and under with music by The DJ Man. Be sure not to miss Zeke and Sergio on the 30th, when the guys will perform a variety of musical favorites.

June

If Dad is jealous of all the special treatment Mom received in May, June is a great time to visit Lone Pine. For Father's Day weekend we will host a delicious breakfast on Sunday morning, as well as a fun-filled dance on Saturday night. June is also a big month for all of you RV, camper, and car lovers--don't miss the Vermont Country Campers Show the weekend of June 6th and Ehler's RV Weekend and Car Show the weekend of the 27th.

July

July is an action-packed month full of fun activities, special events, and favorite traditions. Join us for Independence Day weekend when kids march in their own parade, enjoy an ice cream social, and everybody lets loose with live music performed by The Adams at the season's first big dance. Since we don't see each other during the winter holidays or Easter, the Lone Pine community also celebrates Christmas in July, complete with a children's Christmas party and a visit from Santa, and Easter Weekend, filled with egg decorating, an Easter egg hunt, and a spaghetti dinner! Be sure not to miss Nascar Weekend, when we watch the race on the big screen (July 11th).

August

Things really start heating up in August, with the kick-off of the annual Lone Pine Junior Olympics. Kids ages 5-16 are encouraged to compete in a variety of games, with prizes awarded at at a dance with an encore performance by Live Wire Systems that evening. Halloween weekend is August 8th and 9th, and gives young campers an opportunity to dress their spookiest and go trick-or-treating! Also, be sure not to miss all of the fun of the Champlain Valley Fair, held only minutes away at Champlain Valley Exposition starting the 29th and running through September 7th.

September

As the leaves begin to turn in Lake Champlain Valley, we at Lone Pine get ready to say "so long" until next season. Before we close on October 15th, however, we host a number of events and activities that aren't too be missed. Labor Day weekend is the last big dance of the season (September 6th), with live music by The Adams. To celebrate the end of another great season, we'll enjoy a final potluck together during Thanksgiving Harvest weekend, so bring your favorite dish!
